I did my short run today. I was on a dirt trail so I don't exactly how far I ran, but I think it was a little shorter than the 3.5k that Hal wanted me to do.  I got sidetracked by a side trail up to a vista. It was only 500 steps, and took 15 minutes to run up and back down, but the view was really worth it.  I figured that in the end, I got some exercise and a nice view too. I even made it back in time to wake all 5 of those kids up and get them all over to breakfast on time. I tried a pancake with fresh lime and sugar on top, it was yummy.

Oh, and I almost forgot, while I was running I saw the biggest spider I have ever seen in my life. I just stood motionless and stared at it, while it stared back at me. Somehow, I was sure it could read my mind and was going to jump through the air towards me and kill me. It was so creepy.

Detours make for great runs. And spiders are super scary.

Good job on the run with the cool side trip. I'm glad the spider didn't get you.

You are brave! A spider would be the least of my worries running out there on a trail. Glad you got a beautiful view in on your run! Lime on pancakes...hmmm, I may just have to try it first.

Cat on the run - without Charlotte, counting steps - one of my tricks when I am dead dog tired. Keep on the good work, the race is coming.
